Personal Interests:

  • Dancing: I enjoy Lindy Hop and attend several of the various bay-area dance events. I'm also a member of the Double or Nothing dance troop".
  • Cooking: Seems to depend on how much time I have.
  • Burning Man: Why isn't normal society like this? These are the most generous, warm people I know of.
  • Woodworking: It seems most of my projects relate to Burning Man nowadays, but not always.

Professional Interests:

  • Currently, I'm developing new low-cost assay readers for the medical point-of-care maket.
  • 2001-2004: I worked in the parallel fiber-optic transceiver R&D group at Agilent Technologies in San Jose, CA doing PCB design, electro-optical simulations, testing, and software design.
